Neil Willoughby made the trip from Adelaide to Central Park on Saturday to present his grandfather’s 1892 Stawell Warriors membership card.
The small leather booklet has been framed to preserve it and maintain it for many more years to come.
“My grandfather, Alfred Willoughby, came from the Stawell area. My father also played for Stawell, including a premiership in 1933,” he said.
“I found the booklet in my father’s memorabilia box. It is quite amazing to have something 126 years old still around in great condition.
“Showing people at the club they had not seen anything quite like it before.”
Stawell Warriors president Tim Williams said it was interesting to have such an old piece of memorabilia shown at the club.
“It was pretty cool to see. especially given how old it is,” he said.
The booklet will remain in the Willoughby family as an heirloom to continue to be passed from generation to generation.
