The Storm took on Ballarat Swans at Alfredton Oval, a side they had not been able to defeat in two contests during the home and away season.
In a hard fought first term, neither side was able to hit the scoreboard. In a big loss for the Storm, captain Ayesha Nicholson injured her ankle, ruling her out for the remainder of the game.
The Swans were able to take control in the second term, moving out to a nearly unassailable 24-point lead at half-time.
The Storm hit back in the third term but could only hit the scoreboard three times in the end to go down 6.2 (38) to 2.1 (13).
Ella Wood and Isabella Simmons booted one goal each and were the best on ground for the Storm along with Melanie Dent.
The Swans go on to play Lake Wendouree in the grand final at Mars Stadium next weekend.
