East Grampians Health will receive $21.81 million from the state government for the 2018-19 financial year.
This is $1.01 million – or 4.9 per cent – more than the previous year.
East Grampians Health Service interim chief executive Andrew Freeman said the service welcomed the additional funding from the state government.
He said the funding would go towards indexation and staff wages, among other projects.
“It will also allow us to provide additional services, including theatre services,” he said.
Funding for East Grampians Health has increased by $4.54 million – or 26.3 per cent – since 2014-15.
Stawell Regional Health will recieve $17.53 million from the state government for the financial year.
This is $703,000 more than the previous year – a 4.2 per cent increase.
A Stawell Regional Health spokesperson said the hospital has been notified of the funding.
The spokesperson said the board was yet to approve the budget.
Funding for Stawell Regional Health has increased by $2.76 million – or 18.7 per cent – since 2014-15.
Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford said the funding was part of the state government’s $11.5 billion budget allocation for hospitals.
“We’re delivering record funding to ensure East Grampians Health Service and Stawell Regional Health can treat more patients faster and closer to home,” she said.
