The Storm had no issues handling bottom-placed Carisbrook last weekend.
In the first game back from a weekend off, Ararat claimed a comfortable 8.10 (58) to 1.1 (7) win.
Renee Saulitis booted four majors in the victory while Ayesha Nicholson was best on ground.
With just three rounds remaining, Ararat sits in fifth spot, level on points but with four per cent less than fourth-placed Redan.
The Storm have a guaranteed four points secured from their remaining matches, with a bye in in the final round of the season.
Redan has a much more difficult run home, playing the top three teams in the final three rounds.
The Storm will be hoping to repeat their round seven efforts this weekend when they play Lake Wendouree.
Ararat beat the Lakers by 18 points when they met earlier in the season.
