Ballarat had the most success on the day, winning 11 medals, while three Wimmera clubs were also successful.
Runners from Stawell, Ararat and Horsham won two medals each for their respective centres, including one gold medal for each centre.
Western Country Region Little Athletics secretary Melissa Perry said the day was a “great success”.
“The reports we have had back from the centres are all saying thanks for a well run day,” she said.
“It ran smoothly with no injuries.
“The only interference was from a few pesky kangaroos and kookaburras which just added to the atmosphere.”
All athletes that competed – regardless of their final placing – qualified for the state championships with their participation in Sunday’s event.
Perry said an event such as this is crucial for Little Athletics in western Victoria.
“It gives the country kids a great experience,” she said.
“I think large portion of them will compete in Melbourne in the state champs too which is just fantastic.”
The event is booked in to return to Halls Gap in 2019.
