Today was national simultaneous storytime, an event where children nationwide were read the same book at the same time.
Children from Saint Patrick’s Primary School and the community joined Stawell Library’s NSS.
While the book was read, the library was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, while children eagerly listened.
The engaged children, sang a song after the book and decorated a paper clock in tribute of the book.
NSS is held each year during national library and information week Stawell Library, library officer Sepe Illig said.
“We’ve got events during NLI week designed to engage different groups in the community,” Ms Illig said.
“NSS promotes children literacy and it engages children in reading.”
Last year NSS had nearly 700,000 participants across Australia.
