The Lions managed to kick just six goals as the Rams ran away with a 12.14 (86) to 6.6 (42) win.
Great Western coach Will Bell said “it was just one of those games” where both teams struggled.
“Neither side looked like they played their best footy – it was bit of a windy slog of a game,” he said.
“They played the better match but we never really felt like we were out of it.
“We just couldn’t jag that one or two goals here or there to keep us in it.”
The loss was Great Western’s second of the season, seeing the team slide to fifth on the ladder.
Bell said he is not too concerned with his side’s form.
“Even though we lost to Lismore the week before it was our best game of the season,” he said.
“There are little things we have to improve on but we have a week off now to spend time on those.”
