The portable rink travels to regional communities across Australia. The marketing manager for the rink Lorraine Malone said they travel to regional communities because “kids in the country appreciate it more”.
Ms Malone has been running the ice rink “on and off again for 30 years”.
It is the rinks first time visiting Stawell. Ms Malone traveled from Adelaide with the portable ice rink in tow.
To set up the rink, it takes three days.
The owners approached the Northern Grampians Shire Council to set the portable rink in Stawell for the school holidays.
Ms Malone said people have been travelling from Horsham and Ararat to Stawell to ice skate.
The rink has already had a “reasonable” amount of people visit, with more people expected next week.
