The design by 10-year-old Maddie Carracher has won a contest to have her singlet design showcased during Australia’s richest footrace.
The design features women running through a lush, green park under a bright blue sky.
Runners in the Australia Post Women’s Gift final will don Maddie’s design as they look to take out the top spot in one of the country’s most prestigious races.
“To win at Stawell would be so special to me.” said Kate Jones, who goes into the race as one of the favourites.
“My late grandpa used to watch the Stawell Gift before I was born. Pa used to love it as much as I do.”
For winning the contest, Maddie wins a family pass to the coming race, a race singlet of her design to keep, a $500 Load&Go card for herself, and six $500 Load&Go vouchers up to the value of $3000 for her local school, community organisation, sporting team or club.
The Australia Post Women’s Gift final will be held on Easter Monday, April 2, at the famous Central Park in Stawell.
