Ararat and Moyston saw an influx of electronic music fans for the sold-out Pitch Music Festival.
There was hot demand for bottled water, bags of ice and non-perishable snacks in Ararat on Friday as some of the expected 10,000 electronic dance music fans started to arrive.
Their destination was the festival area outside Moyston, where a city of low-pitch tents and tepees had sprung up to accommodate the influx.
Fairfax Media understands the crowd were mostly well behaved but the officer in charge of police at the festival was unavailable for comment before publication.
Police did take to social media to urge festival goers to make each other aware that drug and alcohol testing would take likely place for those leaving the festival.
“Our members have really enjoyed keeping 10,000 people safe and well at the Pitch Music Festival in Mafeking,” police posted on the Northern Grampians Eyewatch page.
“But come Monday our Drug and Alcohol Road Safety Buses will be out and about ensuring the safety of road users.”
