Jamie Bach will depart Stawell and start afresh at Moyston-Willaura in 2018.
The Warriors midfielder has played at Stawell for the entirety of his football career up until this point.
He said he believes the time is right to move on and build on his career elsewhere.
“I’m 23 years old and I figured it would be a good time to move on and try something new,” he said.
“The move is pretty much about a fresh start and trying to get back to enjoying footy a little bit more.”
Bach looks to bolster the stocks of the Pumas who fell just short in the 2017 Mininera and District season, bowing out in the preliminary finals.
Bach said he hopes he can bring the knowledge and experience from the Wimmera league to his new team.
“I think I bring a few different game styles to the team which might be able to help,” he said.
“Obviously I won’t try and change too much because they have still been pretty successful.
“The main aim is to try to help improve on where they finished last year.”
Bach said it will be tough to move on but he believes it is the right decision.
“I have been at Stawell since i was about 10 and my family has been involved for a long time so obviously I have a lot of close friends there,” he said.
“I will miss it of course, but it is my home club and will always be my home club.”
The former Warrior said he has already met some of his new teammates and is looking forward to a big pre-season with them.
“They seem like a good bunch of lads,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to my new football home. I’m just really excited for next year.”
