Stawell’s Friday night Tennis spring competition is heating up as it reaches the end of the season.
With the new format concluding before Christmas the final few rounds will have a touch of summer about them with the conditions will beginning to warm up.
This week two tight matches are expected with the top two and bottom two sides meeting.
Frewstal is hoping to secure top spot on the ladder with a win over Stawell Toyota.
It won’t be an easy task for Stawell Toyota, with Frewstal claiming a narrow seven game win when the sides last met.
Howard Dunn and Madi Freeland will have to be at their best to gain the advantage over Stawell Toyota’s Blair Hart and Jodie Grainger.
In tonight’s other match, Farrers Tyrepower and David O Jones Mitre 10 will both like their chances of winning as they both scored upset defeats last week against the top sides.
Farrers Tyrepower snuck home by three games when these two teams met last, with another close contest expected.
The match will be determined by how the younger members are striking the balls, with Tyrepower’s Josh Cox and D’Artagnan Walls needing to play well against Mitre 10’s Cameron Hancock and William McDermott.
In Stawell’s Wednesday competition, Selley’s defeated Dulux in a one-sided affair.
They claimed the massive win 74 games to 41.
The other contest between Meyer Timber and Bremick proved much closer, with Bremick getting across the line 58-53.
