After forfeiting four of the first six rounds, the B Grade team will be allowed to continue on the provision it does not forfeit another game for the remainder of the season.
Grampians Cricket Association president David Turner said the executive board of the league talked with Pomonal on Tuesday night and agreed on set terms.
“They (Pomonal’s B grade team) will remain in the competition but should they forfeit again they are out and will potentially be subject to a monetary fine,” he said.
“If they want to to submit a team next year they have to prove they have numbers before hand as well.
“The end result works for both parties.”
Pomonal Cricket Club president Jason Hosemans said he is confident his club will be able to fulfill their end of the agreement.
“We have had a look at it and done the numbers to see what players are available and we think we comfortably have two teams of players,” he said.
“We have several players coming back this week and more after Christmas which means we shouldn’t have any more issues.”
Hosemans said keeping both A and B Grade teams alive is crucial for Pomonal.
“If we lose our B Grade side we lose our A Grade back up,” he said.
“It is critical for the success of our club to have both teams going.”
Pomonal’s B Grade team is set to play Chalambar at the weekend.
