Things just get tougher for Halls Gap, with the ladder dwellers forced to take on the in-form Swifts-Great Western at their home ground on Saturday.
The Gappers are yet to record a win in the 2017-18 season so far, and have given up consecutive outright losses in both of their two day games.
The Combine have had a very different story leading into the match, after knocking off top of the table Youth Club with ease in round four.
Swifts-Great Western has been on fire with the bat in recent weeks, hitting an aggregate amount of 581 runs in the last two games.
The young Gappers will also be faced with the daunting prospect of facing the Combine’s experienced and threatening bowling lineup on the turf wicket of Central Park. A big win could see the Combine jump from third on the ladder into the top two.
