Saturday was a long day for emergency services, responding to a high-angle rescue and carry-out in the Grampians- it all happened in just four hours.
SES received the first alert at 10.30am for a man who had fallen while rock climbing at Mount Zero.
Air ambulance winched the man to safety and was taken to Horsham with arm and facial injuries.
Stawell SES duty officer Jenny Rooke said just after emergency services arrived back after the incident at Mt Zero about 2.30pm, they were called out again.
This time for a boy, 14, who was part of a school group and had fallen and hit his head on the Mt Rosea track.
He was taken to Stawell Regional Health and escaped without serious injury.
“Just remember if you’re in the Grampians to always have appropriate footwear and to be aware of your surroundings,” Ms Rooke said.
