Grampians Music Festival is calling for residents and service clubs across the region to volunteer for the 2018 festival from 2-4 February.
Festival director Carly Flecknoe said the committee was also calling for service, sports and other clubs and individuals to help with setting up before the festival and packing up afterwards.
People will work two four-hour shifts over the Grampians Music Festival weekend in exchange for a three-day festival ticket, a festival t-shirt, stubby holder and food vouchers as part of the volunteer deal.
“Volunteering at a music festival is a right-of-passage for many music lovers so this is the perfect opportunity to help out with an up-and-coming event as well as learn new skills, meet great people, see amazing Australian bands live, and have a great time to boot,” she said.
“It’s a fantastic weekend and the committee really appreciates the time our volunteers give us. We couldn’t do it without them.”
Melbourne resident Juliette Lalli volunteered at this year’s festival and said the weekend was a fantastic experience. Ms Lalli is now apart of the organising committee.
“Three of my friends also volunteered at GMF this year and we all loved every minute of it, so much so that I joined the committee and my friends are coming back to volunteer in 2018,” she said.
“I would highly recommend the experience to anyone who loves live music, the Grampians, and having an epic weekend.”
Ms Flecknoe festival preparations were going well, with the line-up announcement just days away.
“We’re so excited for line-up announcement on Monday – we can’t wait to reveal the amazing Australian acts we’ve secured for the 2018 festival,” she said.
“GMF is all about supporting up-and-coming Australian bands and artists and we have some incredible musicians on the bill, some of whom are getting nation-wide attention.”
