The Baggies saw the return of their A Grade team to the Horsham district league’s top flight, led by new coach Courtney Morrow.
Morrow took her side to four wins and a number of competitive losses to finish 10th after a hiatus in 2016.
Swifts netball director Naomi Hoffman said the successful return of the A Grade team has been “amazing”.
“It was fantastic to not just field and A Grade side but also to see them play competitive netball,” she said.
“Courtney did a fantastic job leading the girls throughout the season.
“If we can keep the core group of girls we have now I can see us just going up and up and pushing for finals very soon.”
Morrow had an outstanding individual season, polling 12 votes in the league’s best and fairest.
Swifts’ under-15 side was the club’s only netball team to qualify for finals.
Three other teams finished just outside of the finals in seventh place.
Hoffman said it show how much the netball program has improved to have so many teams knocking on the door for finals.
“Obviously we were rapt to have our under-15’s make the finals. It was also great to see our other teams get so close,” she said.
“A lot of talented junior girls have been stepping up to the senior grades which is great to see.”
Swifts had 13 girls sign up to play in 2017 from the NetSetGO program that is in place.
Hoffman said she hopes the club can build on that number as well as retain the girls that sign up.
“If we can continue to get those girls to develop our club will be in a strong position,” she said.
Hoffman said the long term goal is to see Swifts begin to compete in regular finals series and push for grand final spots.
“I just want to see us keep building,” she said.
“If we can continue to improve then look out, we’ll be playing finals very soon.”
