Swifts’ under 17 football team will have an opportunity to progress straight to the grand final of the Horsham District Football League when they take on Noradjuha-Quantong on Saturday.
The Baggies’ only remaining junior side finished second at the end of the home and away season, giving them the week off last week and setting up a qualifying final against the Bombers at Laharum.
Swifts went through the season suffering just one loss, which happened to be to the undefeated Noradjuha-Quantong.
Baggies under 17 coach Tim Chatfield said a lot has changed since that game.
“They gave us a lesson when we played them,” he said. “We had a bad day, but we have come a long way since then and made a lot of improvement.”
Chatfield said the main thing for his side is to have fun. “We have to focus, be positive and most of all enjoy the day,” he said.
“It has been a good season so far and hopefully it can get better on Saturday.”
