But students from Stawell Secondary College and Skene Street School can cross the experience off their lists.
The students visited the retired Australian Navy helicopter after it landed at Stawell while on its final flight across Australia.
Stawell College assistant principal Murray Hart said the Navy, Air Force and military were career options for students.
“Students showed a great deal of interest,” he said.
“They had a run down of the crew’s roles and got a tour of the machine.
“They asked questions and were told about how the helicopter would operate during combat, so it was very informative.”
Year 10 student Jaylan Lyons was interested in a career with the Navy and said seeing the helicopter and meeting the crew was a fantastic opportunity.
“It was really interesting to see how the helicopter would have operated,” he said.
“I am looking at the Australian Navy as a career, so it was great to see.”
