The Baggies extended the Lakers’ win-less season in the 57-23 victory.
The Baggies were relentless from start to finish, leading at every break.
A 15-6 first quarter set the tone for Swifts.
The lead continued to blow out, with a 31-goal second half giving the Baggies a comfortable victory, their first since June 3.
The game set some season records for Swifts, recording its highest score and conceding its fewest goals in a game so far this year.
It was a great occasion...
- Steve Hoffman
Forward pairing Laura Farrer and Jade Cleary were reunited for the game, shooting 24 and 33 goals respectively.
Playing coach Courtney Morrow won the Tim Chatfield medal for best on ground in her role in the mid-court.
The medal was voted on by past Swifts Indigenous players for the annual indigenous round clash between Swifts and Taylors Lake.
Swifts president Steve Hoffman said the day was a success.
“It was a great occasion, despite the uneven results from the games,” he said.
“We had the Aboriginal flag painted on the football and had a welcome to country which was great.”
“We had a lot of support from people in the community for the round and hopefully we can keep it going.”
