The Baggies were in fine form and it was the opening term that set the Baggies up for the rest of the encounter when they scored 6.6.42 to the Kees’ 1.2.8.
Swifts continued to dominate and scored three goals to one in the second term.
They went into the halftime break with a 45-point buffer and followed it up with a strong third term, scoring four goals, seven behinds to the Kees’ one goal.
The final scoreboard read Swifts 14.20.104 to Kalkee 5.6.36.
Andrew Cameron scored seven goals for the Baggies, an equal season high for him.
The bag moves Cameron into second position on the league’s goal kicking tally, booting 46 majors in his 11 games.
He is behind Southern Mallee’s Kain Robins who has amassed 71 goals this season.
Cameron is yet to have a goalless match.
"Andrew was very lively, he scored four goals in the first quarter. He was on fire," Carey said.
Swifts coach Scott Carey said he had anticipated a hotly contested match.
“Kalkee is after a spot in the (top) six – just like us,” he said.
“In the first quarter, we went out and were excellent. The ball delivery into the forward-line was practically unstoppable.
“In the second quarter we slowed down a bit and they got back into the game.
“(But) it was a good performance and we did the hard work early.
“In the third quarter we stepped it up and really made it a solid win.”
Carey was impressed with his team’s willingness to work together.
“It didn’t matter who finished it off, it was just that the job got done,” he said.
Angus Murray played well at centre half forward, providing a solid target for midfielders to hit and early best on ground honours for the Swifts.
Nick Thomas, Matt Healy, Matt Tober and Ben Taylor were also good for the Baggies.
Brendan Hobbs, Phillip Streeter and Hamish Exell worked hard for the Kees.
The win projected Swifts to fourth on the ladder – on equal points but with a higher percentage than Laharum.
Kalkee dropped to eight with the loss.
The Baggies will have a week off along with the rest the of the league, before playing Taylors Lake.
The Lakers have won only one game this season, sitting 11th on the ladder.
They also have the worst defensive record in the league, conceding an average of 191-points per game.
Swifts will be after a big victory against the struggling Lakers to help secure a top four spot and break from the rest of the competition by percentage.
Only two games separate fourth and eighth place on the ladder.
