A Statewide Recycling Services vehicle was involved in a rollover incident at the Stawell Gold Mines site on Tuesday.
A WorkSafe spokesperson said they were aware of the rollover and were making inquiries into the matter.
Statewide Recycling Services operations manager Anthony Weinberg said it was an “unfortunate” incident.
“We can confirm that one of our vehicles was involved in a rollover incident at the Stawell Gold Mines,” he said.
“The vehicle involved was a late model, a well-maintained unit which was operated by a very experienced driver.
“Our focus is on the well-being of our driver, who has been discharged from hospital and will be okay.”
A Stawell resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were driving past the Stawell Gold Mines entrance when they noticed a lot of commotion.
“There were quite a few people outside the front gate,” they said. “I looked to the left and I saw this Statewide Recycling Services truck which had rolled over.
“It was on the actual Gold Mines site and it looked like it was one of those vehicles which was there to pick up scrap metal.
“There was a bit of a mess there."
The Stawell Times-News contacted Stawell Gold Mines for comment on the incident, but did not receive a response before the print deadline.
Our focus is on the well-being of our driver, who will be okay.
