EMERGENCY: SES crews responded to the call for assistance on Tuesday about 1.30pm.
Emergency services have said a man, 64, is lucky to be alive after he fell while hiking on the Wonderland Trail at the Grampians on Tuesday about 1.30pm.
Stawell State Emergency Services operations manager Alan Blight said the man from Adelaide was lost and jumped across a small ravine and fell into a bed of rocks.
He fractured his right hip and was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
“If you are hiking wear proper footwear and always be aware of your surroundings,” Mr Blight said.
