Wimmera junior golfers fought hard against Northern District Golf Association in a two day event at Murray Downs Golf Course. Four golfers represented the Wimmera Disctrict Golf Association from Stawell Golf Club and one from Halls Gap Golf Club.
Josh Kelly had two consistent rounds achieving the lowest scores over the weekend for the Wimmera playing consistent golf. Kelly lead his team with a total scratch score of 164.
Caleb Bretherton showed improvement and finished his weekend with a scratch score of 192.
Close behind Bretherton was Halls Gap Golf Club’s Charlie McIntosh claiming a scratch score of 195.
Ryan Nellthorp was a late entry and scored well despite his small amount of practise. He scored a scratch score of 215 for his two rounds.
The talk of the tournament was Kyle Dignan who played two great rounds. Dignan had a scratch score of 200 and managed to break 100 for the first time in his golfing career.
