Stawell author Janice Williams will launch her first book, Stir of Wings, on Thursday, April 6, at 7pm at the Stawell Library.
Ms Williams said Stir of Wings was a collection of stories and associated poems that made you “feel better about life”.
“They deal with supermarket trolley mayhem, bread-making machine drama, and Halloween night stress,” she said.
“Even tales of sadness and depression offer hope.”
Some of the stories had received awards in competitions, including the Wimmera Regional Library Corporation’s annual event.
Sales from the book will be donated to Compassion Australia’s Critical Needs program.
Every day 2000 children die from water-borne diseases. “Small gestures, like the stir of butterfly wings, can make a difference,” Ms Williams said.
