Former professional basketball player, and now blues guitarist Mike Elrington will perform at Stawell’s Diamond House on Saturday, April 1.
The musician will make his second appearance at Stawell.
“I always look forward to going back to Stawell, it is a pleasure to play there,” he said.
“Dave at the Diamond House is passionate about blues, it is a very niche area and hard to promote in a small town, but he does very well.”
Mr Elrington battled depression and bipolar disorder and described the fight as “nothing but empty and horrible,” but he said he has rediscovered his love of music and life.
“I had to take a break from music for a little while and then get back into it for the right reasons, which are mainly fueled by the desire of writing songs and then sharing them in a live situation,” he said.
Mr Elrington has signed international publishing and management deals, performed in New Zealand, United States of America and United Kingdom and released his album Two Lucky Stars. The gig at Diamond House will start at 8pm.
