Joiner will face off against Marcin Chalupa, who is a team mate of Joiner’s last opponent Greg Hearne.
At this stage Joiner is working on all aspects of his fighting to ensure he is ready for whatever Chapula throws at him.
“It's hard to know if I have any advantages because I don't know anything about this guy,” Joiner said.
“Really it's all about focusing on myself, preparing and making sure the best version of me goes to Adelaide.”
For Joiner each fight is a new fight and while he continues with his undefeated record his confidence continues to grow.
“Confidence comes from preparation, and my training has been good,” Joiner said.
“I know I've evolved, and I'm getting better and that gives me confidence. I haven't got a plan of attack as of yet, can't really plan for the unknown, so I'm covering everything, by working on my boxing, muay thai, wrestling and Brazillian jiu jitsu so I'm prepared to take this fight where ever I want.”
Former coach Rodolfo Marques has returned to Joiner’s corner after a stint in Brazil.
“Having Rodolfo back has been huge, previously I would only get to spend 3-4hrs a week with my MMA coach, now I spend 3-4hrs a day with Rodolfo and Regan Neoh,”
“Rodolfo has taken me to do extra sparring learning from the likes of Gustavo Falciroli, Daniel Kelly and Callan Potter and a few others when these guys are all preparing for their own fights is amazing.”
Potter is fighting for a title in Melbourne at the end of March, while Kelly is competing in Vegas next week on ufc 209 against former champion Rashard Evans.
“It has been a great experience to train with these guys and see how they do it,” Joiner said.
