The Grampians Cricket Association are set to commemorate 50 years of cricket, but its celebrations have been put on hold due to a lack of support from participating clubs.
Committee members have been doing their best to organise a night for Grampians Cricket to honour the past and present players, but minimal response has the whole evening in doubt.
Gray Cunningham has been busy trying to pull some last minute strings in order for the night to go ahead.
“We really feel as though it is an achievement worth celebrating,” he said.
Cunningham said there were a number of long serving Grampians Cricket players who had not even been contacted.
The celebrations were supposed to take place next weekend in Ararat following the T20 in Stawell during the day.
The executive committee are desperate to see this event go ahead.
