The Tuckers Hill Quarry boat race is a highlight of the event, inviting teams of people to race their ‘boat’ along the turf to claim the $1000 first prize, $500 second prize and $300 third prize. Entry is free and the rewards are huge, so get your teams of four together (each team must include men and women) to take part in the heats.
In a special offer in 2017, you can save on your entry by coming along with friends. While tickets are $20 at the gate, get together a group of 10 and pre-book online to get in half price at $10 per person.
There will be buses running from Halls Gap, Stawell and Ararat, for which you are encouraged to pre-book.
The buses will leave Ararat Town Hall at 11.30am and Halls Gap service station at 10.30am. The Halls Gap service will also pick up from Stawell Town Hall at 11.30am. The return service will leave Great Western following the band’s performance, which ends at 7.30pm.
