The restocking of 6000 yearling trout comes after the lake recorded significant spring rains this year.
Fisheries Victoria executive director Travis Dowling said Green Hill Lake was one of many lakes in the region that would be restocked with fish in the lead up to summer.
“Increasing fish stocking is a key commitment of the state government’s target one million plan for recreational fishing,” Mr Dowling said.
“The plan aims to get more people fishing more often.
“It’s all about increasing fishing opportunities and encouraging more people to cast a line and experience our great outdoors.
“Recreational fishing puts a smile on people's faces, it lifts the community spirit and is great fun.”
Lake Bolac will be restocked with 8000 rainbow trout next week, which will give anglers another fishing spot to consider over the summer months.
The trout was sourced from the Fisheries Victoria hatchery in Snobs Creek.
