Parry was shocked to win the award.
“It is a bit of a surreal feeling, you never expect to win these type of things,” Parry said.
“At the end of the day netball is a team sport and you don’t play for the individual awards.”
Parry had a satisfactory season by her high standards and thought her teammates would poll well.
Despite having achieved so much at Navarre and in the Maryborough Castlemaine and District League Parry remains modest.
“I am proud of what I have achieved but don’t consider myself 'one of the best',” Parry said.
“I'm no better than anyone else who steps on court, just another country netballer playing for a club she loves.”
Parry said the individual was no match on a premiership and she was focused on the task at hand.
“I don’t think it has anything on a premiership. Its an honorable award to win but I would trade it in a heartbeat for a premiership,” Parry said.
Parry has improved her fitness in order to take her game to the next level.
