Ian Notting has won the Stawell Orchid Society’s Annual Winter Show to be awarded the Grand Champion Orchid prize.

Members of the society met for the show that saw a large number of plants entered.
Mr Notting was the proud owner of the top orchid of the show, as chosen by members of the judging panel, who declared his paphiopedilum, delenatii x micranthum the winner.
Members will meet on for their monthly meeting at Laidlaw Park on Patrick Street, Stawell from 7.30pm.
The guest speaker will be Michael Matthews who will explain how to grow orchids in a shoebox.
It will provide advice to anyone who only has a small area to grow their orchids in.
Mr Matthew will present the who, what, when,where and why segment. He will reveal his methods for growing phalaenopsis orchids.
Members will also discuss the 25th Anniversary show, which will be hosted at the Stawell Entertainment Centre, from September 23 to 25.
