VicRoads has advised that the eastbound lane of Grampians Road over Delley’s Bridge in Halls Gap would be closed until late March for painting work.
A 40km/h speed limit and traffic lights will be in place 24 hours a day from Mondays to Fridays.
With residents and the local tourism industry in mind, VicRoads will be reopening the eastbound lane on the weekends, with the 40km/h speed limit in place.
This lane closure will allow for the repainting of the railing to be completed safely by VicRoads workers, while also ensuring appropriate environmental controls are in place for Fyans Creek.
Concerns were raised by residents in Halls Gap in November in relation to the condition of the northern railing on Delley’s Bridge. Residents called for action over the deteriorating condition of the bridge, believing it could jeopardise safety not only for them, but the many thousand visitors who flock to the region.
All road users are asked to be aware of the changed traffic conditions when travelling through the area and be mindful of road workers.
Please call 13 11 70 to report road hazards, and visit the VicRoads VicTraffic website and App which provides live traffic information about emergency road closures, traffic alerts, freeway travel time and traffic flow across the network.
