PARAMEDICS have winched an injured climber to safety in the Grampians.
Stawell State Emergency Service unit controller Alan Blight said the man had head injuries and a possible fractured femur after falling about 30 metres near the Pinnacle.
He said air ambulance crews winched the man into a helicopter.
He said the man would likely be transferred to a Melbourne hospital.

CREWS have reached a climber who fell in the Grampians.
Stawell State Emergency Service unit controller Alan Blight said one crew had reached the man, and others were still making their way to the scene.
Country Fire Authority vertical rescue teams from Ballarat, Warrnambool and Hamilton are helping Wimmera crews, including vertical rescue teams from Stawell and Ararat.
Police and Ambulance Victoria crews are also on scene.

CREWS are continuing to work to free a climber who fell at the Pinnacle in the Grampians.
The 19-year-old man fell down a cliff and has suspected head and leg injuries.

EMERGENCY services are working to free a climber after he fell in the Grampians.
The incident was reported just after 1.40pm on Sunday.
Police, Country Fire Authority, State Emergency Service and Ambulance Victoria crews are on the scene near Halls Gap.
An air ambulance helicopter – the HEMS3 – is on its way to the scene from Bendigo.
Ambulance Victoria’s John Mullen said a male climber, believed to be in his late teens, fell about 30 metres into trees.
“Crews haven’t got to him yet. We believe he might have a head and hip injury,” he said.

EMERGENCY services are responding to a reported fall in the Grampians.
A State Emergency Service spokeswoman said crews were still on their way to the scene near Halls Gap.
The incident was reported about 1.50pm on Sunday.
“Stawell and Ararat units have been asked to attend,” she said.
“It is a multi-agency high-angle rescue.
“We don’t know the situation yet but we think it was a climber who fell.”
Police, Country Fire Authority and Ambulance Victoria crews are also part of the rescue.
The authority’s incident list shows nine vehicles are on scene at Young Road.
An air ambulance helicopter – the HEMS3 – is on its way to the scene from Bendigo.
