Growers are being encouraged by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) to maximise the quality of the hay they produce by following industry best-practice guidelines.
The GRDC Radio southern update offers growers and contractors advice to ensure they salvage as much as they can from failed crops.
The advice comes from Australian Fodder Industry Association executive officer Darren Keating who speaks with GRDC Radio presenter Chris Brown about extracting the most from haymaking.
The program also discusses warnings over withholding periods for pulses cut for hay and a reminder about chemical use when crop topping. The GRDC provides timely news and information relevant to the southern cropping region each week through its radio programs.
