The first workshop is a collaborative program with SPACi members coming together to provide a series of activities for adults to experiment with acting techniques and explore ways of moving and responding on stage.
The second workshop sees the return of Lisa Dallinger, a past SPACi member who grew up in Stawell and is now a Melbourne based performer and teacher.
With a degree in Acting from the Ballarat Arts Academy, Lisa has performed in various theatre and film/TV projects in Melbourne and she also performed in the Adelaide Fringe Festival earlier this year. Lisa is a qualified Drama/English Teacher and has completed a 'Masters of Teaching', via a 'Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching Shakespeare' at the University of Melbourne.
Lisa will be leading participants through a progression of activities to enhance their understanding and skills in acting and will build on the work undertaken in the first workshop.
"The committee have been working hard to provide a variety of activities in the performing arts," president Tracey Erkelens said.
"Ms Erkelens encourages anyone interested in acting, who enjoyed drama when they were at school or anyone who is just interested in having a fun day to get online or down to the Neighbourhood House and book a place in the workshops.
"There is no commitment to be involved in other SPACi programs, however we always welcome new members," she said.
Each of the workshops is a full day, 10am to 4pm with a break for lunch and although participation in both workshops is encouraged with a 10 per cent discount, each is a stand-alone event and may be booked separately.
Workshops are limited to 25 participants each. Workshops will be held at the Stawell Neighbourhood House, Powerhouse building Sloan St Stawell. Tickets are available on line at trybooking http://www.trybooking.com/133082 or can be purchased from the Neighbourhood House.
