Just about everywhere you turn you can see interest and development - If you want too.
The potential for the Underground Physics Laboratory in Stawell, the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, continues to be one of the biggest talking points.
It will gain further attention in coming weeks when the Northern Grampians Shire Mayor and CEO seek a meeting with the Prime Minister to discuss funds to enable stage one of the project to commence.
Stage one would involve work to convert part of the existing gold mine so the underground facility can be established.
The State Government has already committed $1.75 million to the ground breaking project, council hopes the Federal Government will be just as forthcoming and provide the remaining $1.75 million.
Council has also just reaffirmed its support for an expansion of public transport across the municipality, including extended routes and a Saturday bus service in Stawell as proposed by the Sandlant Bus Company.
There also continues to be a steady flow of new retailers in Stawell with vacancy rates down and business confidence on the up.
Just a month out from Easter, when all eyes turn to Stawell, it is reassuring that a lot of what people see and hear over the holiday period will give them a good story to tell.
