Warriors have been big improvers in the latter half of the season, but are yet to get the results.
Midway through the season they made a club goal that they would defeat a higher placed team than them.
Coach Brad Cassidy is hopeful of pulling off the upset this weekend.
"It is going to be very competitive. They need to win to play finals and we want that upset," Cassidy said.
In recent games against Ararat, Stawell has had moments where they have slipped up and that has ultimately cost them.
Tomorrow they will be focusing on putting four consistent quarters of football together to give themselves the best chance of winning.
"We need to start the way we finished last week, but we can't afford to have those lapses," Cassidy said.
"The physicality of the match and whether they play finals is irrelevant. We just want to win."
Last time the teams met Chris Ford was taken out with front on contact and was unable to take any further part in the game.
It is expected the game will have some heat in it, given the history of the two clubs and what is at stake.
Stawell will welcome back Brenton Potter, who was unavailable due to work commitments, Todd Cleary who had his wisdom teeth out and Trevor Matthews, who has had stitches removed from his hand.
It is expected that the under 17s players who have stepped up in recent weeks will return to just one game.
Liam Scott and Andrew Cameron both had fitness tests last night and whether they will play on the weekend is unknown.
Cassidy is disappointed not to be playing finals, but in their last game he hopes the players can bring extra effort to find that win.
"We are striving for that win," Cassidy said.
"We need to turn up focused and ready to play good football."
To win tomorrow, Cassidy has identified several key areas including their transition from attack to defence, their overall skills and their ability to make good decisions.
Adding to the excitement of their final game is the reunion of the Warriors 1984 premiership teams.
"It is a big day for the club, there is a lot happening," Cassidy said.
"It would be nice to show everyone how far we have come this season."
The senior game is scheduled to start at 2.20pm at Central Park.
