The celebrations also coincided with the 37th anniversary of the Uniting Church in Australia.
Visitors came from Melbourne, Ballarat and beyond, and the worshipping community were glad to welcome many from the local community.
Dignitaries attended including Mayor of the Northern Grampians Shire, Cr Kevin Erwin and his wife, Julie and the Chairperson of the Presbytery of Western Victoria, John Diprose, with his wife Helen.
Ministers present at the opening included Rev Dr Graeme Sutton, Pastor Alec Wood and Rev Jean Shadworth.
Co-ordinator of the organising group, Kathleen Rickard said that there was a great response to the day.
"We worked well together, the church grounds were immaculate, people welcomed, and a plentiful variation of food for lunch helped it to all go smoothly," she said.
Mrs Rickard said the memorabilia, including DVD and powerpoint created a lot of interest.
"The service linked our past with our present and our future," she said.
"The singing almost lifted the roof, as we gave thanks to God for our unity and such a wonderful complex, used to benefit many over the years. We look forward to going into the future."
