Stawell's breakfast scoop - July 31

Top Stories:

- The Men's Shed in Stawell has taken delivery of a new sheet metal bending machine.

The new machine is valued at more than $3,500.

The community organisation secured a grant of $2,860 under the Federal Government's Shed Development Program last year to purchase the new machine.

A primary supporter of the Men's Shed as part of its commitment to community health and wellbeing, Stawell Regional Health paid the balance for the machine.

- Members of the Grampians Bird Observers Club set off on their latest adventure from the Stawell Grampians Gate Caravan Park.

Members split into smaller groups in an attempt to view or photograph the many species of birdlife within the park boundary.

This amounted to about 30 acres, most of which was either bushland or wetlands.

There is quite a variety of tracks to follow which allowed the birdwatchers the opportunity to view a wide range of birds.

Whats on: All local football teams will hit the track tonight to prepare for the games on the weekend except for the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League who have the week off.

There isn't long to go now before finals who do you think will make the cut?
