Headlining the group of AFL footballers were senior players Jack Gunston, Ryan Schoenmakers and Luke Breust.
Gunston is halfway through his third season at the club, where Schoenmakers and Breust have been on the list since 2009.
Another regular in the seniors, Taylor Duryea, was also in attendance at the clinic.
As each player introduced themselves the students sat in awe at the size and reputation of each Hawk.
Students gathered from Skene Street, St Patrick's, Stawell West and Stawell 502 primary schools eager to learn and improve their skills with a football in hand.
From the outside the oval looked like a carnival frenzy, with smiling children running everywhere, two massive inflatable objects and many other activities.
Hawthorn swing man Ryan Schoenmakers takes the opportunity to participate in community clinics each time they come up on their busy schedule and finds them very rewarding.
"It is great to get away from the big city and spread the word," Schoenmakers said.
"It is all about promoting footy and having a bit of fun along the way.
"If we can inspire a couple of kids we are doing our job."
Hawthorn had the bye last weekend, which gave them more freedom to branch out into the community.
"Our training load isn't as strict with a bye so we have more time for this sort of thing," Schoenmakers said.
"It just feels good to put a smile on the kids faces."
