More than eighty people attended the emotional and touching ceremony of the 'Unknown Soldier' conducted by the Marnoo Masonic Lodge.

The ceremony was so well received it resulted in invitations for it to be performed again in Maryborough and possibly for the Stawell Secondary College next year.
The educational content contained in the ceremony is relevant to the knowledge of the history of such an important event in 1920.
The music provided by Nicholas Hatswell contributed to the solemn atmosphere of the evening. The Bugler - Amelia Kingston played the 'Last Post' to a hushed audience.
Following the ceremony, Cr Wayne Rice gave a short address on respect and sacrifice.
Stawell Secondary College principal, Colin Axup spoke of the importance of the ceremony, in which he has just taken part and the contribution of the Marnoo Lodge in keeping this event to the fore.
Mr Axup also congratulated the Marnoo Masonic Lodge for such a fine presentation.
At the conclusion, the Worshipful Master Lyle Johnson presented a cheque for $400 to the Stawell Secondary College principal, $100 to the RSL maintenance program and $100 to the Stawell Brass Band.
The ladies of the Marnoo Masonic Lodge served supper to complete the wonderful evening had by all.
