Any member of the community who requires assistance at Christmas should attend the Welfare Centre at 18 Wimmera Street (the old Kingston's bus office), between 10am-12.30pm today.
The committee distributes Christmas grocery shopping vouchers each year, as well as toys and books, to those in need in Stawell and the surrounding district.
Last year the committee distributed Christmas grocery shopping vouchers to 94 needy households and Christmas toys and books to 111 children, ranging in age from babies to 13 year olds.
The committee has called on the Stawell and district community to make donations of new unwrapped toys and children's books to help the committee make Christmas easier for needy families.
Giving trees, where donations can be left, are located at the Grampians Pharmacy, Stawell's Trackside Bar and Bistro, Stawell Medical Centre, Stawell Primary School, Stawell West Primary School and St Patrick's Primary School.
Trees are also situated at the Stawell Secondary College and the Anglican, Catholic, Church of Christ, Lutheran, Salvation Army and Uniting Churches in Stawell.
Donations need to be made by Wednesday, December 18 as distribution will take place the following day.
