The 17 year old raised $3,697 from a fundraising event held at the Hammer and Gad
The money was raised through donations, raffles and auctions.
"It was crazy, just massive, a really good day," Ms O'Connor said.
The total amount raised by Molly since she began fundraising is now more than $6,000.
Molly said the level of involvement and support from the community was beyond her imagination.
"My brother, one of my friends and even a couple of people I don't know joined in and shaved their heads on the day as well," she said.
"A lot of people came along and the community have been really supportive of the cause.
"All of the businesses who got behind the day and supported me, thank you so much.
"I also want to say a massive thank you to Brian Notting for all his help and commitment, it couldn't have been done without him."
Earlier in the day Molly had a piece of her hair cut by Block contestants Mark and Duncan who had paid a visit to Mitre 10.
It wasn't until later in the day Molly had to comes to terms with losing it all as hairdresser Shanae Moss took to her with the clippers.
"Molly asked me if I would do it and I was more than happy to," Mrs Moss said.
"I think what she is doing is really amazing."
All of the proceeds from the Hammer and Gad event and any other donations go to the Cancer Council's 'Relay for Life'.
Molly has been taking part in the Cancer Council fundraiser in memory of her pop and in support of her mum.
Molly's mother Deb said her daughter had so far done an amazing job.
"I am so proud of Molly with her fundraising efforts," she said.
"As a 17 year old girl it is a big decision to be prepared to lose your hair, but Molly's attitude is 'it's only hair, it will grow back, some people don't have a choice'
"Molly is on top of the fundraising board in our Relay for Life team, which is just such a fantastic effort."
Next on the fundraising drive for Molly is participating as part of the team in Relay for Life on March 23.
"During the day everyone will be fundraising in one way or another," Ms O'Connor said.
Ms O'Connor said she has since found out she will be doing the opening ceremony oath at the annual fundraising event.
