The community sport awards season in Stawell has been a busy one, with yet another league best and fairest winner crowned.

This time the Stawell Warriors claimed the spoils with talented netballer Sophie Hutton winning the WFNL 13 and Under netball best and fairest.
On Monday night, Hutton sat down and watched the vote count on her mother's computer, and to her surprise, she was leading after round eight of the season.
"I was surprised when they showed the leaderboard and I was leading after round eight," she said.
"I was just shocked to see my name come up for votes.
"I thought I would go down from there because I cut my thumb during the season.
"Mum and Dad already knew, so they were happy, but my grandma was more shocked.

Hutton had a kitchen accident throughout the season when she "sliced" her finger.
Fortunately she didn't miss any time on the court thanks to a COVID-induced season break, but it was a pain when she returned the court later in the season.
The speedy centre scored 17 votes to win the count and said the most enjoyable part of the season was playing with her teammates.
"I definitely enjoyed playing netball with our teammates. We all got along so it was fun," she said.

"I would like to thank my coach and my mum for being team manager this year.
"I would also like to thank all my teammates for their help this season."
In 2021 the Warriors 13 and Under squad finished fourth on the ladder, winning eight games across the season.
In the WFNL netball 15 and Under count, which was also held on Monday night, Stawell's Ruby Peters polled an impressive 16 votes to finish equal fourth overall.
