Including the littlies just learning the game, there was action aplenty, as the future of the Stawell Tennis Club was on full display.
A Grade
Stawell Toyota have flexed their muscles early in the season, with a big win over a hapless Wombat Earthmovers outfit.
Led by skipper Jack Stevens, who showed sublime touch in winning all sets, and well supported by Adi Obi and Alana Graveson, Stawell Toyota were never challenged in the seven sets, 46 game to one set, 26 game victory.
Lily Dunn was the only Wombat Earthmover to taste success on the day.

Frewstal jumped out of the blocks against rival Carey Covers, and despite taking the foot off the pedal late, were never really threatened as they marched to a five set, 39 games to three set, 28 game victory.
Frewstals Jack Reading started the season in scintillating fashion, going unbeaten, while Hunter Thomas and Paige Davies tried valiantly for Carey Covers in the loss.
B Grade
Wombat Earthmovers have found their way to the top of the ladder on the back of a sensational doubles section, where they won four out of five sets, before holding on gamely in a six set, 50 games to four sets, 41 games triumph over Stawell Toyota.
Ryder Sullivan and Lewis Nicholson did a bulk of the damage for Wombat Earthmovers, while Isabell Read and Eve Jones battled hard for the vanquished, who now have an extra week to lick their wounds, courtesy of the bye.
Ethan Jones and Pieter Jardine set the tone early for Frewstal in a thrilling contest with Carey Covers, and despite a mid-match lapse from the Frewstal team, a late surge saw them come away with the four points, six sets, 51 games to four sets, 46 games.
Callum Reading, who has traded in his cricket bat for a tennis racquet, tried desperately to will his Carey Covers team over the line, however fell marginally short, but will look to bounce back this week.
C Grade
Wombat Earthmovers sit atop the C Grade ladder following a six set, 31 game to four set, 24 game victory over Stawell Toyota.
With most players playing competition for the first time, it was Sam Margetson and Tanner Freeland who led the way for the winners, while Emmy Brunt did her best to keep her Stawell Toyota team in the contest, winning two of her three sets.
OTHER NEWS:
Frewstal made it a clean sweep in A, B and C Grade, with a comfortable win over Carey Covers, six sets, 33 games to four sets, 26 games.
Dustin Price, Will Freeland and Ava Brilliant were all in superb touch for Frewstal, while Lenny Field was the best performed for Carey Covers, winning two of his three tight tussles against Jack McGregor, with all three going to a deciding seventh game.
