A gathering of almost 200 people formed at the Stawell World War I memorial, in the garden of the Stawell Library, on the corner of Patrick Street and Sloane Street.
Stawell RSL president Graeme Cox led the service with the ode and a minute silence observed along side the reveille.

In his 2021 Remembrance Day address Stawell RSL president Graeme Cox reminded everyone of Australia's sacrifices that have been made in the name of freedom and democracy across the world.
"At 11am on November 11, 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare," he said.
"Of the 506 who volunteered from the Stawell district to serve in WWI, 124 failed to return.
"The Allied Nations chose this time on this day to commemorate their war dead.
"Since that time conflicts have continued around the globe, but we still hold fast to the belief that we can work towards that goal."
Community groups from all across Stawell paid their respects with wreaths placed at the memorial, with 2021 the 100th commemoration of Remembrance Day.
