Police have charged a 21-year-old man with a number of drugs offences after a late night drug stop in Stawell.

On Tuesday October 12 at around 1.40am, the Stawell night shift divisional van intercepted a vehicle on Grant Street in Stawell.
Stawell Police said they conducted a searched of the vehicle and its occupants where they allegedly located an 'ice' pipe, an amount of methylamphetamine and cannabis.

Stawell Police said they charged a 21-year-old male from Stawell, who was a passenger in the vehicle.
The man was arrested and charged with a number of alleged offences under the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act.
The male was remanded into custody to face the Magistrates' Court.

Stawell Police station sergeant Eddie Malpas police members are monitoring drug activity in the region and encouraged those in the community to continue to provide them with more information.
"If anyone out in the community has any information that can assist Stawell Police further in relation to drug-related offending, I encourage them to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," he said.
"You can remain anonymous if you wish.
"There are support services out there that can assist people who wish to make lifestyle changes, however if people choose to continue being in possession of illegal drugs, they run a huge risk of being arrested and charged."
