Victorian Nationals leader Peter Walsh will visit Stawell this week to finalise policy ahead of the 2018 election.

Mr Walsh will be joined by president of the Stawell branch of The Nationals and Northern Grampians Shire Cr Kevin Erwin.

The focus of the visit will be to meet with businesses and community groups to discuss issues around the region.

Mr Walsh said he would be looking at a range of important issues including doctor shortages, educational infrastructure, tourism, small business, CFA, and local government.

“The Nationals believe it is vitally important to meet face to face with the people of rural and regional Victoria to learn about the issues impacting upon them,” he said.

“Rural and regional Victoria is crying out for strong leadership on crime, cost of living, decentralization and the CFA debacle just to name a few and the Nationals team is ready and waiting to provide that leadership after the November 24 election.

“We have a Labor government who has shown no interest whatsoever  in rural and regional issues over the past three years and it is time for it to go.”
