2017 was a tough year for Stawell’s A Grade side, going through the 16-game season without a win.
Stawell netball sub-committee member Cole Matthews said despite the difficult season the club believes Cosson will be able to get the group to improve.
“Kelly had a pretty big task last year,” Matthews said.
“She had a cross section of ages and experience in her team which made it difficult.
“She had a lot of young girls who got some fantastic experience, so we believe Kelly will continue to help them develop, learn and get crucial A Grade game time.”
Cosson will be without assistant Madi Jelly who will be unavailable due to university commitments.
The Warriors also announced their coaches for all other netball divisions.
Matthews said the group of coaches that have been selected bring previous experience to the roles.
“All but two coaches have coached before which is very positive for us,” she said.
“We have a good mix throughout all the teams, so we are pretty happy.”
The Warriors will begin their preparations for the 2018 season from next week, holding the first of three try out sessions from Wednesday, January 31.
Stawell will begin season 2018 significantly earlier than most other Wimmera teams, facing off against Ararat on Good Friday at the end of March.
“The countdown to the season is well and truly on since we start earlier than the other teams,” Matthews said.
“It will be crucial for us to be as prepared as we can.
“There is about six weeks between our final try out and the first round so we have plenty to do in that time to make sure we are ready.”
Stawell will host netball try outs at North Park on Wednesday January 31, Sunday February 4 and Thursday February 8.
